Once an order is confirmed by the customer, the Project Manager comes into the picture. A working group is formed with colleagues from Mechanical, Software and Hardware Engineering, and as Project Manager, you direct various aspects such as the engineering, the work and assembly planning, and the general scheduling of the project. The trick is to see where there is room in the overall schedule to do things as efficiently as possible. I have plenty of contact with colleagues in internal departments but also with the customer and the other project suppliers. As Project Manager I am the first point of address during the course of the project, so I also see something of the world as I regularly visit projects for my work. This makes the job challenging and varied. All the systems we install for customers are unique. Our customers are located all over the world, so this allows me to experience the cultural differences between the various countries, which is something I enjoy.
