At Houdijk Holland, we are proud to claim that we are ‘first in biscuit feeding’ worldwide. We develop and manufacture advanced systems for the transport, inspection and loading of all types of biscuits and crackers at Houdijk. These systems are then commissioned on site. The creation of these complex mechatronic systems is a challenging and multidisciplinary process. Our systems can process quantities of up to 15,000 products per minute, with efficiencies approaching 100%.
Houdijk Holland is a family concern that has been based in Vlaardingen, near Rotterdam, ever since its foundation in 1922. Houdijk started out as a ship repairer when the region still had an active fishing industry, but after the war the business began to focus on general mechanical engineering. Houdijk entered the biscuit world more by chance than by design. Repair work for a local bakery led to the successful development and manufacture of a roller loader for Dutch crispbakes. The roller loader was a hit and was soon followed by requests for other kinds of biscuits and packaging, such as sandwich biscuits and crackers in rolls, stacks or trays. Since the 90s, we have concentrated entirely on the biscuit market. This market is international and we supply all medium and large biscuit makers.
Every day, millions of products pass through our feeding and sorting systems on their way from the oven to the packaging division. This is done with the greatest possible efficiency and care. Houdijk has earned a unique international position in this segment. Our mission and our ambition is to be: First in Biscuit Feeding – Worldwide.
